Nidia Hansen

Colombian born - Australian Artist

Living in Perth, Western Australia

​

Nidia Hansen is a Colombian born contemporary Australian artist who explores the intersections between art, nature and cultural backgrounds. She studied Arts and Crafts and Arts Events Management at Central TAFE and Community Engagement and Cultural Planning with CANWA. Her multidisciplinary practice comprises of paintings, drawings, sculpture, installations, works on paper, design and textiles. Attracted by the versatility and materiality of traditional and modern-day art materials, her media includes acrylics, inks, charcoals, natural dyes, pigments, wood, stone and raw and discarded or found materials. Very skillful for drawing, she took a course on Natural History Illustration with New Castle University, to produce artworks from local flora and fauna.
